民主進步黨籍立委蔡適應、羅致政在詢答時都問到，政府在美國大選前是否押錯寶？李大維答詢時否認，他說，沒有這件事，台灣兩黨並重，外交部從不押寶，「對美關係太重要了，我們從不押寶」，在內部會議向總統蔡英文報告時，也從來沒有忽略過川普 （DonaldJohn Trump）。
李大維在回答中國國民黨立委呂玉玲質詢時也說，現在證實當初兩黨並重的策略是正確的，「當然我不能說是沒有意外」，但至少是有備而來；而蔡總統也沒有做過任何押寶、從來沒有做過任何表示，就算只有幾個人的內部會議也沒有。
蔡適應也問，跨太平洋夥伴協定（TPP）是否會繼續推動？李大維說，以目前政治現實，大家都看得很清楚，他要思考對國家最有利益的做法，今後會就台灣跟美國經貿方面自由化更制度化，作為主要考量。1051110
